For your Amalfi Coast vacations there is an amazing opportunity for you to spend your time relaxed and to regain energy! There is a town called Praiano and it’s located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, between Amalfi and Positano, the two most famous towns along the Amalfi Coast.

Positano

Visit Positano, this enchanting place has so much to offer to tourists. If you are looking for a town able to stupefy, go there and spend a day in Positano. There’s magic among the town, everything is full of fashion, local artist, local boutiques, traditional smells, stairs and natural beauty.

This colourfull town offers an amazing vegetation with bougainvilles and breathtaking seaviews around every corner. Food will surely be tasty in every place. Positano´s main beach is quiet small, so there’s always a lot of people, but taking tan under a mountain of pink buildings is priceless and there is the small not so well known Fornillo beach next to it.

Amalfi

As we already said, this is an important town. It used to have a good exportation of lemons and paper. They produce the famous Limoncello. In fact, you can even visit the Museum of Paper or buy paper as a souvenir. Moreover you can appreciate lemon gardens all over the mountains on the Amalfi Coast road. There are many local ice-cream sellers, who only use natural ingredients from their own gardens.

Spend an afternoon there, visit St. Andrew Cathedral, the ticket is 3€ and they will give you a leaflet with information in your language about the Cathedral. From Amalfi you can walk until the most small town of Italy, called Atrani, a diamond at night. Once a year they host a mega firework directly from the sea in the end of July.

The Campanian Archipelago

It is one of the most beautiful archipelagos of Italy, a pile of small isles. Some of them are famous all over the world. So…what to visit here? Which islands? What are the attractions?

The most known islands are CapriIschia and Procida, three diamonds for their beauty. Procida has volcanic origins, Ischia is the largest island, more for wellness reasons and it is composed of six towns: Ischia, Casamocciola Terme, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Serrara Fontana and Barano.

Lastly, Capri: the most attractive  and luxurious of the islands is able to fascinate people since many years. The Faraglioni are a spectacular natural beauty. It is visited by many VIP `s and is divided into two towns: Capri and Anacapri. We suggest You to visit the Gardens of Augustus, Villa Jovis and Punta Tragara and the Blue Grotto and to go for a little shopping! Capri is the most fashionable and iconic place on the world.

Sorrento

We need to warn you about a detail: Sorrento and Campanian Archipelago aren’t part of the Amalfi Coast, but they are so close to it and famous that you will be curious to discover them.

This land is very famous for lemons, olives, fashion and the sea, you will find many wonderful places to visit among the Amalfi Coast, Islands and the Sorrento Peninsula. Sorrento is 45 minutes from Praiano and is very clean and charming. But, what to visit in Sorrento?:

Ravello

You can’t miss Ravello, an enchanting town suspended in the air, overlooking the marvelous sea. It is famous thanks to the Villas (Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo). You can visit the Villa Cimbrone garden, its terrace is amazing, it evokes a romantic scenario and the ticket costs 7€ per person, they celebrate events during the summer months (especially august). We suggest you to visit also Villa Rufolo, a medieval building. You will find a museum inside, but there can be midnight concerts and exhibitions too. Also here the price for the entrance ticket is 7€.

More attractions

Well…these were the most typical places of the Amalfi Coast. But in the surroundings you will find many areas full of beauty. Work on your tan at Praiano the beach, the most beautiful rocky beach of the Amalfi Coast, which is located a few steps away from Villa Bellavista Hotel (10 minutes walking). In Minori you will appreciate the ancient Roman villa which dates back to I century a.C., you can go and visit it from 9.00 am until sunset. It is well kept and the entry is free. There is one of the most famous pastry shops along the way: Sal de Riso, there you have to try a traditional lemon cake.

You could spend a day visiting all natural wonders, discovering the beauty of Furore fiord and the Emerald Grotto. They are quiet next to Villa Bellavista. You can visit the Emerald Grotto by one of our boat excursions. Anyway, it is close to Furore Fiord, there’s a long staircase to reach the beach. The Path of Gods is a 10 km long pathway, which begins in Agerola and ends in Positano. There are many beautiful views and two routes to trek: one for beginners and one for expert trekkers.

Out of Amalfi Coast area: Naples, Caserta, Pompeii and Salerno

You can’t leave the Amalfi Coast without visiting Naples, the capital of South Italy, dwelling of Spain for a pair of centuries, land of history and the sea. There are so many places to visit in this town, choose the ones you would like to see:

  • Plebiscito Square
  • Maschio Angioino
  • Royal Palace
  • Spaccanapoli
  • The most beautiful underground stations

This is a city that can stay close to your heart. We also suggest you to visit the Royal Palace of Caserta, built by Bourbon kings of Naples, and the old Pompeii excavations where time stopped at 79 century a.C., the ticket costs 13 €. Moreover Salerno situated immediately after the Amalfi Coast is very pretty too. We recommend you a tour through the old town and Arechi Castle.

In case You have much more time to spend…well, you will be surely a lucky person! But in this case, there are many wonderful areas to discover as Cilento and Matera.
